I have the most amazing sister. That's a pretty big claim, but it's true. She is truly amazing. We compliment each other. She’s the outgoing, daring one. Me, I’m the more reserved, realistic one, so together we make sense. We have always been close! I think we are so close because our parents divorced when we were young and not saying that our parents weren't there for us, because they were, but my sister was/is my constant. No matter what is going on, no matter where we are, she is there for me.
I told Tara that I was dating a new guy; she was excited to meet him. She liked Drew from the get go, even if he was a little on the nerdy side. She said maybe that’s what you need. When I signed up for my first half marathon, she said I will be there and she was! I could hear her voice in my head, keep going, you can do it! When I told her that I was getting married, I swear she was almost more excited then me. I asked her to be my maid of honor. She cried and said yes. She was by my side on one of the most important days of my life.
Before my husband , through my children, Tara will ALWAYS be my constant.

When I called Tara to tell her that she was going to be an Auntie, all I heard was crying and exciting screams. Her boyfriend (soon to be husband), thought someone died and apparently everyone in the parking lot that she was standing in, stopped and looked at her. She didn't care, she was going to be an Aunt.
While I was in the delivery room, I wanted her to hold my hand. Drew ran to the waiting room to go get her. She came in, rubbed my back, and kept Drew company. I wasn't really up for conversation. She was so excited. When I looked at her between contractions, she had this HUGE smile on her face. The next day when Tara came to meet baby Scarlett, I don’t think that smile left her face. She was there when I needed her!

The first few months of having Scarlett, Tara would pick up the phone, or drive down just to listen to my fears and worries. I cried a lot in those first few months. I was a new Mum, I think that's what we are suppose to do - cry. Drew would be at work, Tara would come and watch the baby so I could sleep. Once she got Scarlett down for a nap, this awesome sister of mine would clean my whole house. I’m not talking just doing dishes, I’m talking deep cleaning the bathroom. Vacuuming the house. Cleaning the windows.
Tara is such an amazing person and I am beyond grateful she is in my life. Don’t change a thing about your self! Scarlett is so lucky to have such an excellent role model. My hope is that if for some reason Scarlett can’t come to myself or Drew with something, that she will have her Auntie.
